Industrial Tire of CNY Sportsman Shootout Outlaw Weekend Championship a Marquee Event
Sponsor pushes winner’s share to $3,000
FULTON, NY (September 18, 2023) – Across the vast landscape that is Northeast Sportsman racing, The Industrial Tire of CNY Sportsman Shootout sits high on the list of coveted events. For many, September 30 has been circled on the calendar for the entire 2023 season.
This year’s Industrial Tire of CNY sponsored event will, in part, pay tribute to long-time Fulton Speedway Sportsman regular Jeremy Pitcher who was tragically lost to cancer on March 28. In support of that, Tom Juno and Power Seal Driveway Sealing will present the Jeremy Pitcher Memorial Pole Dash. The finish of this event will set the front rows for the Industrial Tire of CNY Sportsman Shootout and reward the first second and third place finishers, $514, $314, and $214 respectively.
With recently added support from Ryan Phelps Auto Sales, the winner’s share of the 50-lap affair has been increased to $3000 out of a total base purse in excess of $11,500. Glen Ridge Motorsports Park will post $1000 in lap money in random draws each lap. Bicknell Racing Products has again pledged $700 in financial support for the Shootout. Industrial Tire of CNY is posting heat race awards of $150 for 1st, $100 for 2nd, and $50 for third. Additional awards will be announced as they become finalized. Overall, more than $16,000 in purse money and awards are on the line.
This year’s Industrial Tire of CNY Sportsman Shootout will run unsanctioned, but closely mirror the DIRTcar rulebook. Stock GM seals are required with DIRTcar verification seals optional. Engines with the DIRTcar repair seals are not permitted.
Ten-lap heat races and twelve-lap consolations will be on tap Friday, September 29. Fifteen-lap Last Chance showdowns on Saturday will complete the 30-car starting field for Saturday’s 50-lap Showdown.
