Ivan Little Passes Away

Donald “Ivan”Little
February 23, 1938 – October 25, 2023

Ivan Little passed away peacefully at 85 on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Without his beloved wife of 46 years, Nancy, his heart did not want to go on. He is remembered lovingly by his cherished son James, and many dear nieces and nephews. Ivan is now reunited again with Nancy, as well as his parents James and Betty, as well as his brother Alan and sister Shirley.

“Drivin’ Ivan” thrilled racing fans across Ontario and New York from 1955 through 1986. The pilot of the famed flames 61 modified, arriving at the track with the chrome polished and not a speck of dirt on the car. While he may have regularly been one of the last cars to arrive, he was just as regularly the first car to the finish line. In the words of Dizzy Dean Murray, the track announcer at Speedway Park and Cayuga, now the real racing can begin, Ivan Little has arrived. The real racing has now begun in heaven.

A visitation for Ivan will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hulse & English Funeral Home, 75 Church Street, St. Catharines. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Hulse & English as well. Contributions in Ivan’s memory may be made to Hospice Niagara or the Breakfast Program at St. George’s Anglican Church.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hulseandenglish.com for the Little family.
