2023 Season Celebration – Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models

N. Woodstock, NH — In the weeks leading up to the annual Banquet of Champions, we will be having a 2023 Season Celebration for each of the six divisions that call White Mountain Motorsports Park home throughout the summer. After starting with the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division and the Wayne’s Market Dwarf Cars, it’s time to celebrate White Mountain’s newest division. 2023 marked the second season for White Mountain Motorsports Park’s third part-time division, the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models.

The Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models joined the White Mountain roster in 2022, giving New England’s Mini Stock community a place to call home during the summer months. After Oxford, Massachusetts’ Nick Anderson claimed the inaugural crown, he had his hands full on the defense in 2023.

While rain plagued the Mini Late Models more-so than any other division in 2023, the four-cylinder masters made the most of the wet season. Antrim, New Hampshire’s Desmond Skillings was hot to trot right out of the gate in June, taking his beautiful throw-back rig to WMMP victory lane. Anderson returned to form two weeks later to claim the second event of the season.

Berlin’s Cody LeBlanc claimed the checkers in July before continuous rain pushed racing back into September! The final two events were a throw-down, dog-fight between LeBlanc and Anderson with the point lead nearly tied between the two. In the end, LeBlanc nailed down the championship after late race troubles for Anderson on championship night.

Aside from the title fight, several key players made waves in 2023. Garrett Labounty hauling down from Orleans, Vermont and Kevin Boucher from over in Grafton both made strong gains throughout the season. LaBounty found himself among the victory lane podium three times in 2023 while Boucher finished off strong with two-consecutive third-place runs in September’s final events.

Longtime White Mountain supporters Dustin and Brett Jackson continued to campaign in the quick Mini Late Models, as did Normand Raymond from Sherbrooke, Quebec, Newfield’s Kenny Marier and Berlin’s Matt LeBlanc. Dick Lamotte from White River Junction joined the Minis full time, as did Colton Hull. Lamotte fought mechanical gremlins while taking two top-10s this year while Hull took a season-high 5th in July.

White Mountain Motorsports Park has wrapped up the 2023 stock car racing season. The annual Banquet of Champions will celebrate the top runners and supporters from the 2023 season on Saturday, December 2 at the Littleton Elks Club.

The 2024 Schedule of Events will be out tomorrow, Wednesday, November 22. Updated license forms and rule books for the 2024 season have been released by the ACT office.
