Ed Thompson Passes Away
Edmund John Thompson, 56, of New London, Connecticut, passed away on February 2, 2024. Born on March 29, 1967, in Wilmington, Delaware, he was the beloved son of Shirley Fallon.
Edmund, known to his loved ones as Ed, was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family was his first love, and he cherished his 27 years of marriage to his wife, Roberta James Thompson. Ed was a devoted father to his children, James Edmund Thompson (Skyler Thompson), Zachary J. Thompson (Shelby Williams), and Emma R Thompson. He was also a doting grandfather to Collin Thompson and Bowen Thompson.
Ed’s passion for racing was evident in his involvement with the New-London Waterford Speedbowl Wrecker Crew. He found joy in using his skills to tow racecars and was in his element whenever he was at the racetrack. In addition to his racing family, Ed had a fulfilling career. He worked at R&R Truckstop for a period of time and, for the last 25 years, was employed by Richard E. White and Sons of North Stonington, CT.
Edmund will be remembered for his vibrant spirit and dedication to his loved ones. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on February 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Potters House Church of God, located at 500 Sandy Hollow Rd, Mystic, CT 06355.
