“Jap” Membrino Passes Away
Anthony “Jap” Membrino
December 31, 1933 ~ February 21, 2024 (age 90)
Anthony “Jap” Membrino, 90, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. He was the loving husband of Sally Membrino for 65 years.
Jap was born on December 31, 1933, in Waterbury, CT to the late Anthony Membrino Sr. and Antoinette (Sacco) Membrino.
Jap was an electrician for 40 years. He was a well-known racecar driver that won championships and many races, and was inducted into the New England Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2022.
Jap is survived by his sons Marty Membrino, Tony Membrino and his wife Lolita, Tommy Membrino and his wife Dee; daughter Cheryl Membrino; granddaughters, Kara Membrino and her husband Collin Bisson; Shannon Salva and her husband Nick; grandsons, Tony Membrino and his wife Andrea, Mark Membrino and his wife Jenna, Tommy Membrino and his fiancé Jillian. He also leaves behind great-grandsons Peyton, Colton, Cameron; great-granddaughters Alessia and Aria. He is predeceased by his sister, Gloria Mencio, and his four brothers, Ralph Membrino, Joseph Membrino, Francis “Bucky” Membrino, and Daniel Membrino. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, February 24 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St. in Plainville.
