Mekkelsen RV Extends Multi-Generational Partnership with Memorial Day Classic
Barre, VT — One of the longest-supporting local businesses in Central Vermont has once again taken up the pen and signed on for yet another three-year extension. Mekkelsen RV located in East Montpelier has continued their backing with the iconic Memorial Day Classic, a partnership with the popular Sunday spectacular that goes all the way back to 1996.

Mekkelsen RV first joined the Thunder Road family back in 1994 before taking over the title sponsorship for the Memorial Day Classic for the first time in 1996. The Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic celebrates its 61st running this May and has enjoyed the popular addition of the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series Granite City 100 since 2022.

The 2024 season hits its stride on Saturday, May 4 with the annual Car Show at Thunder Road starting at 9:00am followed by the Kenley Dean Extravaganza celebrating the life of our incredible founder Ken Squier starting at 12:00-Noon. Both the Car Show and Kenley Dean Extravaganza offer free admission for the general public. The next day, Sunday, May 5, brings the 26th annual Community Bank 150 for the American-Canadian Tour plus the start of track championship action for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and rk Miles Street Stocks alongside the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors for an explosive start to year 65 at the Nation’s Site of Excitement!
