Weekly Modified Racers Will Run for a Little More in 2024 at Airborne Park Speedway & Devil’s Bowl Speedway

Chris Reckner, owner of Burnt Hills’ Elmo’s Speed and Supply, is looking to reward racing’s boldest this season with a chance to win a 2025 Bicknell Chassis. “We’re looking to reward the hard chargers,” said an excited Chris. “If you’re a 100% attendee at a track we sell parts at and are the hard charger for a regular points night, you get a ticket for the drawing.” For those who may be new to racing lingo, the “Hard-Charger” is not necessarily the winner of the race, they are the racer who passed the most cars during that event. But just like the TV sometimes says, “But wait, there’s more.” The entries will be for any open-wheel division that races that night. So, at Albany-Saratoga Speedway for example, there could be four different drawing entries given out with the Modified Division, 358 Modified (Seven races this year), Sportsmen, and Limited Sportsmen. For clarification, a racer must attempt to qualify for every weekly point-paying event for their respective division. For example, at tracks where 358’s will run partial schedules, racers must attempt to qualify at every scheduled event for their division. Additionally, mid-week touring events will not count.

With there being multiple divisions and multiple tracks, some busy racers could rack up multiple drawing entries for the prize. With Elmo’s being a parts supplier at Airborne Speedway on Thursday nights, Albany-Saratoga Speedway on Friday nights, Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday nights, and Glen Ridge Motorsports Park on Sunday nights, not only will there be multiple chances each week, but we could also see some racers obtaining multiple entries in even one night.

To add more to the kitty, each track will be making an announcement each night for the hard charger so there will be even more opportunities for a racer to get their name out there and get that all-important exposure for not only themselves, but also their sponsors by proxy. For those interested in the social media side of things, there will also be weekly posts from Elmo’s Speed and Supply on Facebook with that week’s Hard-Chargers, with the drawing occurring at the end of the racing season live on Facebook.

With the chance to obtain a new chassis, and those chances only available to those who hustle, it should certainly add to the already exciting shows at some of the Northeast’s finest racing facilities. Elmo’s Speed and Supply is a full-service speed shop at 861 Saratoga Rd, Burnt Hills, NY. For all your race car parts & Hoosier Racing tires give Elmo’s a call at (518) 429-4746.
