Wayne Edwards Passes Away

Wayne Edwards, 82, of Montrose, PA, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born on February 17, 1942, in Towanda, PA, to the late Clair and Noreen (Boyce) Edwards. His wife of 40 years, Lois (Strohl) Edwards, survives.

Also surviving are his children, Denise Edwards, Wanda (Randy) Jenner, stepchildren, Janice Bomboy, Jackie Trowbridge Gage, Daryl Jay Cook, Thomas Lee Cook, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend, Nancy Rinebold. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marian Edwards, son, Richard Edwards, stepchildren, Ricky Cook, Judi Hunt, and Tammy Mae Hunsinger, two brothers, Boyce “Bucky” Edwards and Larry Edwards, and sister, Alice Blanton.

Wayne loved racing, he owned his own car and raced at the local tracks. He also drove for his brother in car #48, “Stump Jumper Special”. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, and other sporting events on TV. Wayne loved to go dancing with Lois, and he enjoyed socializing with his friends. Above all, Wayne enjoyed life, and as the Sinatra song went, “He did it his way”.

As per Wayne’s request, there will be no services. In his memory, donations can be made to: the American Lung Assoc.
