James Liccardi Passes Away

James R. Liccardi,71, a resident of Oswego passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the University Hospital in Syracuse.
He was born in Oswego, N.Y. to the late John P. and Sylvia L. (Materazo) Liccardi. He graduated from the Oswego High School, Class of 1971, and later after marriage and his two sons were born he received a degree in Data Input from Bryant and Stratton in 2003.
He was employed with Greco’s TV&Appliance, Marine Midland Bank, Oswego County Savings Bank, SUNY Oswego, and as a bus driver for the Oswego City School District.
He was the co-founder of the Eagles Fan Cub and the Oswego Speedway Old Timers Reunion. He was a member of the Oswego Speedway Hall of Fame, and a past member of the Central New York Shetland Sheepdog Club. Jim was a member of TOPS where he was the New York State King-Runner up in 2023.
He enjoyed photography, racing, and music.
Jim is survived by his wife, the former, Laurie Syrell, two sons, Benjamin and Kyle Liccardi both of Oswego, best friends, David and Rosemary Place, sisters, Gina and Kari Beth, and brothers, John, William and Robert Liccardi, two dogs, nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 with a service to follow the hours.
