ACT Tour Returns to Iconic Thompson Sunoco World Series During Huge Saturday Card

Barre, VT — Following the big-money, non-point showdown at Thunder Road’s Vermont Milk Bowl just days ago, the American-Canadian Tour faithful take on their next challenge at Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway during the 62nd Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing! The Sunoco World Series 75 serves as both the penultimate championship event to the 2024 season and the return of the popular Brookside Equipment Sales Southern New England Triple Crown for Round #2!

Center Conway, New Hampshire next-door neighbors Gabe Brown and DJ Shaw once again find themselves atop the ACT point standings for the second consecutive season during the chilly autumn homestretch. Brown secured a strong second-place finish to Tom Carey III in Thompson’s Back to School Bash back in September and looks to utilize that momentum this weekend. Shaw’s double duty with the Pro All Stars Series may also play into Brown’s hand, but his other competition certainly won’t.

Tom Carey III is looking for his second big Thompson Speedway win of the season and his second Sunoco World Series ACT win after capturing the victory during the Tour’s last visit in 2022. Carey would love to bring car owner Roger McHugh another World Series win and climb the Brookside Equipment Sales Triple Crown standings in the process!

Top rookie Kasey Beattie currently leads the Brookside Triple Crown after dominantly taking his first career American-Canadian Tour win at Seekonk Speedway in June. Like Brown, Beattie took advantage of Thompson’s Back to School Bash in September for a little practice on the highbanks with notes he hopes translate to victory on Saturday.

Keep your eye on Kulwicki Driver Development Program (KDDP) finalist Derek Gluchacki and Notre-Dame-des-Pins, Quebecer Alexendre ‘Fireball’ Tardif. Thompson Speedway is Gluchacki’s home turf, his stomping grounds and the Kulwicki national points collecting driver is looking to make a statement after a heartbreaking DNF at the Fall Foliage 200 in September. ‘Fireball’ Tardif is one of Canada’s strongest runners on the 0.625-mile Thompson oval and looks to better his third-place podium finish in 2022 with a win this time around!

Speaking of Quebec, the Canadian Province also sends down former Sunoco World Series champion Jonathan Bouvrette, Remi Perreault, Claude Leclerc, Michael Lavoie and Christopher Bedard as the 2024 racing season comes to a close. Fellow ACT 100%ers Erick Sands, Jesse Switser, Kaiden Fisher, Cam Huntress, Jeremy Sorel and Bryan Wall Jr. are also set to take on the Thompson highbanks while Matt Lowinksi-Loh and Ryan Morgan are among the Thompson regulars looking to take on the ACT Touring stars!

The American-Canadian Tour returns to Thompson Speedway during the 62nd Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing on Saturday, October 12. Round #2 of the Brookside Equipment Sales Southern New England Triple Crown, the Sunoco World Series 75 will pit the best of the ACT Touring stars against the best of Southern New England in a 75-lap sprint prior to November’s championship event at Seekonk Speedway.

Saturday only General Admission is available at $45 for adults, $15 for kids 12-6 with children five and under free all three days of Sunoco World Series weekend! The multi-day general admission ticket is also available at $75 for adults and $30 for kids 12-6.

Saturday-only pit admission is available to adults for $50 and $25 for kids 12 and under. The Multi-Day Pit Pass is also available to adults for $100 and $50 for kids 12 and under.
