Denis Bergeron Passes Away

Denis J. Bergeron
April 24, 1960 – November 8, 2024

Denis J. Bergeron passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 8th, 2024 at the Gilman Office Complex where he worked for the past 43 years.

Denis was born on April 24, 1960 in Lebanon, NH and attended Mascoma Valley Regional High School where he grew a passion for car racing. In the early 1980’s he started his competitive racing career on dirt in Bradford, VT at Bear Ridge Speedway. From there he transitioned his racing career to the asphalt at Claremont Motor Speedway where he shared his racing passion with his father and brothers on the Bergeron & Son racing team.

In 1985, he achieved his ultimate goal of winning the street-stock track championship. In 1986 he continued his dominance with winning the Rookie of the Year award in the pro-stock division. Aside from his local racing successes, he also raced at several other tracks such as, Loudon Motor Speedway, Pocono Motor Speedway, Lee Speedway, Monadnock Speedway, Canaan Speedway and others. As the years went on, he slowly transitioned himself out of racing cars and continued to contribute veteran advice to other race teams.

Denis began his longtime profession as a property service manager at the Gilman Office Complex back in 1981. This is where he really became the “Jack of all Trades” and the “Handy Man” for Frank Gilman. If something needed fixing you could count on Denis to fix it. He was the face of the Gilman Complex whose smile was ever so contagious. Denis devoted his life to the Gilman Complex and was a huge part in the business’s success.

Some of Denis’s other passions were hunting, fishing, RC Car racing, watching NASCAR and cruising the back roads with his friends. But one of Denis’s true joys in life was spending time with his family. After his father’s passing in 2021, it was very important to Denis to live out his father’s legacy by taking care of his family as his father always did. Denis had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone, always putting himself and his needs last.

He is survived by his Mother, Rachael Bergeron, Brothers, Francois Bergeron & Noel Bergeron, Three Children, Brittany Copp (Steven), Brandon Bergeron (Aria) & Brianna Kendall (Samuel), Six Grand-Children, Bryce Ballou, Blake Copp, Quinn & Cole Bergeron, Harper & Madelyn Kendall, two nieces, Siera & Shayla Bergeron and several cousins. Aside from family, Denis leaves behind several close friends.

He is predeceased by his Father, Fernand Bergeron, Paternal Grandparents, Georgianna Desrosiers and Aldea Bergeron and Maternal Grandparents, Francoise and Onesime Thibodeau.
