Stafford Speedway Champions to Receive New Firesuit and Helmet from Leaf Racewear and Bell Helmets – YankeeRacer.com

Stafford Speedway Champions to Receive New Firesuit and Helmet from Leaf Racewear and Bell Helmets

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Leaf Racewear and Bell Helmets have partnered with Stafford Speedway to honor the 2024 track champions. All 5 of the weekly track champions will receive a custom firesuit from Leaf Racewear and a new helmet from Bell Helmets.

“We started this program with Bell Helmets a few years back and have been able to provide our champions with some of the most advanced helmets on the market,” explained Stafford Speedway General Manager David Arute. “We’re very excited to add Leaf Racewear to our champions program and be able to provide a custom champions firesuit for each of our track champions.”

Champions Andrew Molleur, Kevin Gambacorta, Tyler Chapman, Matt Clement, and Travis Downey will each get to select their helmet type from Bell Helmets. Each Leaf Racewear firesuit will be similar in appearance with track champion and Stafford Speedway along the legs.

Andrew Molleur – SK Modified® Champion

“It’s pretty unbelievable that a local track is able to give us a top of the line helmet and firesuit for winning the championship.  It certainly means a lot and it was a surprise to me when the track reached out to me about the helmet and firesuit.  I’m extremely grateful to Stafford and everything they’ve been able to give us as champions, not only the helmet and firesuit, but the jacket from American Woolen, the other championship jackets that we received, and the trophy and banner, it’s all truly amazing.  To be associated with brands like Bell and Leaf Racewear, they’re both top of the line brands and I’m very appreciative.”

Tyler Chapman – SK Light Modified Champion

“It’s great what the track does for its champions.  Anything helps when you’re racing and when it’s a top of the line helmet and firesuit that are on the line, it’s a great feeling when you win and something to look forward to when you win the championship.  We were all a little shocked when we got contacted by the track and we saw what the items were.  It’s great for Bell and Leaf to be giving stuff to racers and we’ll definitely be staying safe next season with these items.”

Matt Clement – Limited Late Model Champion

“This couldn’t have come at a better time for me as both my helmet and firesuit have seen better days.  I am over the moon to see that Stafford along with Bell and Leaf are going above and beyond for us.  At the last race of the season the firesuit deal hadn’t been finalized yet and I got the news when Kyle and Bonssa came by the house to do my champions interview and I was jumping for joy.  I’m already thinking about what to do with the Leaf firesuit design because I got an up close and personal look at Jeremy’s [Lavoie] firesuit and it’s super high quality and I’ve never had a top of the line helmet like this Bell helmet is, so I’m very excited.”

Kevin Gambacorta – Late Model Champion

“It’s pretty awesome that the track is doing this for the champions, especially because I was thinking about it was time for me to get a new firesuit so now I’ll have a cool one with Stafford Champion or whatever it’s going to say on it.  And the helmet, we got one last year and I never would have believed how much more comfortable it is with a nice lightweight helmet.  Safety is the most important thing and sometimes that can get overlooked so it’s nice to have the best safety equipment.

Travis Downey Street Stock Champion

“I’m blown away that we’re going to get a helmet and a firesuit, that’s a pretty big add-on for winning the championship.  I’m speechless over it and I’m still kind of absorbing everything with winning the championship.  I’m totally blown away we’re going to get a helmet and firesuit and all the work that Stafford does for us as champion drivers is pretty amazing.  In addition to the helmet and firesuit, I’m really happy they paved the mini-mile for the kart kids.  The track was pretty rough last year, but Stafford treats us pretty good and my daughter is super excited to get back out there.”
