Bob Horn Passes Away

Robert Horn
July 8th, 1951 – February 24th, 2025

Robert T. Horn (Bob), 73, of East Norwalk, CT, passed away on Monday, February 24th, 2025, at Norwalk Hospital, from complications of heart and respiratory failure.

Bob was born on July 8th, 1951 to Robert and Fay Horn of Norwalk, CT. Bob is survived by his wife, Cathy, his sister, Vanessa Horn Sennewald and her husband, Eddie Sennewald of Gainesville, Georgia, his daughter, Debbie Horn of Norwalk, CT, and his son, Kenny Horn of Tappan, NY, and many aunts and cousins.

Bob was the first of the many steppingstone cousins to be born, and he always had an interesting life, playing the accordion in competition, had a passion for auto racing and was a Tri-Chevys ’55, ’56 and ’57 avid collector. He went from race car owner to driver and, in the last 20 years or so, back to car owner. Back in those days, everything happened at 30 Van Zant in the back garage. Bob’s mom was always cooking and feeding every blessed soul that came to help, or chat.

Bob had a bit of a crusty side, and a very short fuse, but the meltdown only lasted a minute or two, then it was back to the task at hand.

Nothing could keep Bob down until the end. Bob always said, “if I can’t walk to the garage and work on my cars, I don’t want to be here”.

Bob was so lucky to have so many friends and to have retained his lifelong best friends and crew, Tommy, Rob, Bill Sweet Sr., Eddie D., Jim H. and, recently passed, John Peck. I know there are so many others, so let me say, we realize you gave up a lot of your lives to help Bob achieve his dreams. When he said thank you and that he appreciated your help, it came from his heart. Thanks to Ronnie for delivering Bob all those trophies and winnings, Don LaJoie and Vanessa and Eddie for sponsoring Bob’s cars.

Bob has been cremated, and we will be having a luncheon get-together on Saturday, March 8th, from 11am-2pm at the Imperial Eagles venue, across the street from our house, at 25 Van Zant Street, 1st floor. Come comfortable, no RSVP necessary.
