Road Warrior Veterans Move Up to Take on rk Miles Street Stocks in Strong Rookie Class
Barre, VT – As the 2025 season grows ever closer to Opening Day, it appears that several veterans of the Burnett Scrap Metal Road Warriors are jumping ship and moving up to the rk Miles Street Stocks. So far, six drivers have signed on to tackle the rookie chase in the region’s top four-cylinder division with four of them moving up from the Road Warriors!
Leading the charge is defending Road Warrior Challenge Champion Tyler Wheatley. Brookfield’s Wheatley has been a top pilot in the entry-level warriors for several years and hopes his experience will translate to the Street Stocks right from the get-go! A fellow longtime veteran, Milton’s Jason P. Kirby, will also step up the ranks with his Bobby Dragon-inspired #71 machine!
After a year away, Randolph’s Keegan Tabor returns to the Nation’s Site of Excitement and eyes the freshman title as well. Tabor took a season of running Pure Stocks at Claremont Speedway last year in preparation for this mammoth challenge in 2025. Another young-gun in Jaiden Del Toro will also look for rookie gold after running Road Warriors last season. The second generation driver is the grandson of longtime Thunder Road pilot Ricky Roberts and nephew of current Maplefield/Irving Late Model driver Chris Roberts.
Two outsiders will also take on the rk Miles Street Stocks this season. After getting his feet wet last season, Northfield’s Jamerson Tofani is ready for a season-long effort while Waterford’s TJ Hackett will get his first introduction to the competitive Street Stock class as well.
“The rk Miles Street Stocks have been simply amazing the last few years and it seems 2025 will be no different,” said Thunder Road managing partner Cris Michaud. “With six rookies in these ultra-competitive fields each week it’ll be a tough start for them but it’ll be fun to watch all year long!”
The 66th season kicks off on Sunday, May 4 with the 27th annual Community Bank, n.a. 150 for the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour and the start of track championship racing for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and the non-point Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors! Saturday, May 3 will be the annual, free-to-the-public Car Show from 9am to 12-noon before open practice running until 5pm.
