2025 NASCAR Pro Stock Preview

Can Dylan Estrella Best Pelland, Arrenegado & Others for Another Pro Stock Crown in 2025?

As the Pro Stock field gets ready for battle in 2025, the competition is going to pick up right where it left off at the end of the 2024 season. On the championship night last year, Dylan Estrella bested Vinnie Arrenegado, Bobby Pelland and Mike Brightman to win the Pro Stock championship. It was his first Pro Stock title, but fourth overall championship (two Late Model, one Mini Cup) at Seekonk Speedway.

Entering the new year, Estrella is going to be a favorite – but so are the other three – along with others. The Pro Stock field has over 20 competitive cars registered to compete, some full-time, some part-time.

Estrella wheels the No. 46 for Everett’s Auto Parts. The short-track racing standout at Seekonk Speedway picked up two victories last year, and finished second the final races of the season to win the crown.

Pelland and Arrenegado were definitely the two most consistent drivers in 2024.

In the year-long standings, Arrenegado posted a final total just one point higher than Pelland, also enough to win the Rookie of the Year honors. Although Arrenegado didn’t win in his rookie season in the Pro Stocks, he finished second in seven race events – unreal! Going into 2025, you can certainly expect to see the former two-time Late Model champion in Victory Lane.

If history means anything, Pelland will be there too – likely many times. He’s been among the top contenders in the Pro Stocks for multiple years. The former Late Model champion enters 2025 with one goal in mind: finally capture that elusive championship for the No. 12 team.

Mike Brightman returns in 2025 looking to do the same. Another former Late Model champion, Brightman has come close to knocking that Pro Stock title off his bucket list the last few years. Is 2025 the year? And will he win multiple times again in the No. 27?

Some other names fans should watch this year include Colbey Fournier, Mark Jenison, Dick Benoit and Jacob Burns. Yeah, you read that right – Jacob Burns, in a Pro Stock.

The Late Model standout is making the move to Seekonk’s top division in 2025 and is certainly planning on being a major factor right from race one. Can he make the playoffs and contend for the title, while grabbing his first win(s)? There is no doubt about it.

Fournier has been impressively quick on the track at times as well. He captured the victory in the season-finale last year and comes into 2025 looking to carry momentum and come up with the consistency it will take to contend for the title. Jenison, a former two-time Pro Stock champion, returns looking to run both the Pro Stocks and Late Models full-time. He is one you can never count out.

Benoit has become one of the underdog stories in the Pro Stocks. Driving for Danny Cabral, Benoit won last year and also enters 2025 looking to put it together week to week. Some other names to watch include former champion Kenny Spencer, Daryl Stampfl, Jeramee Lillie, Chris Gomes, Danny Cabral, Tommy Adams, Kevin Casper and Bill Joerres.

David Darling, third all-time on the Seekonk Speedway wins list entering the new season, also intends to run at least select events – and obviously will be a threat to win every time on the track.

Is there also going to be a part-time campaign from former Late Model champion Ryan Kuhn? Stay tuned.

The Pro Stock field includes many competitors who made their way up through the Late Models (and lower divisions) into Seekonk’s top division. Entering 2025, there are too many favorites to pick just one.

The Pro Stock season begins at Seekonk Speedway on Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m. For more information on Seekonk Speedway and to purchase tickets for all events, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com.
