Arrenegado Knocks First Pro Stock Win Off His Bucket List

SEEKONK, Mass. — Vinnie Arrenegado finished second seven times during the 2024 season, winning the Rookie of the Year, but failing to capture his first career Pro Stock win. On Sunday, the opener of the Seekonk Speedway season ended all of that talk.

Arrenegado rocketed to the front and came out on top of the competition after 40 laps of racing.

Nick Lascuola, a former Legends Cars champion, won the main event on the track, but did not pass post-race inspection.

Arrenegado and defending champion Dylan Estrella battled hard for the second spot over the second half of the race – in a race that ended up being the battle for the lead. Arrenegado came out on top by a short distance, enough to grab the feature win. The former two-time Late Model champion finally has a Pro Stock trophy to take home.

Estrella finished second, with Bobby Pelland III wrapping a day of double-duty with third-place finishes in both the Late Models and the Pro Stocks. Dave Darling was fourth and Mark Jenison fifth. Colbey Fournier, Jacob Burns, Andrew Gomes, Mike Brightman and Jeramee Lillie finished the top-10.

The Pro Stocks will be back on track on Saturday, May 10, for another 40-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates.

LeBrun Kicks Off Late Model Title Defense in Victory Lane

SEEKONK, Mass. — Luke LeBrun left no doubt on opening day that he’s going to be a threat for the Late Model crown again in 2025 at Seekonk Speedway. LeBrun scored the feature win in the first race of the season, driving away over the final laps to win by over two seconds on the competition driving the No. 27.

The race started with it looking like Charlie Rose was going to be the car to beat. After winning his heat race, Rose drove up to the front of the pack after an invert placed him a few rows deep and was in the lead on lap seven. When the caution flag flew for a separate incident, something happened to Rose’s car, and it shut down on the track. He was pushed off the track, and wouldn’t return.

LeBrun took the lead on the restart on lap eight, and although he had some fierce challengers behind, he was able to escape while others battled. Opening a championship defense in Victory Lane is a great start to the season.

Chase Belcher charged through from starting 10th to finish second in the Everett’s Auto Parts No. 35. Bobby Pelland III, running double-duty between the Pro Stocks and Late Models, scored the first of two podium finishes on the day for him in third. Josh Hedges and Richie Murray followed in fourth and fifth.

Andrew Gomes, Mark Jenison, Brittany Campbell, David Lougee and Manny Dias finished the top-10.

The Late Models will be back on track on Saturday, May 10, for another 30-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates.

Serydynski Picks Up Where He Left Off in Sportsman

SEEKONK, Mass. — In the Haunted Hundred Street Stock race, Scott Serydynski Jr. ended the 2024 campaign in Victory Lane. Kicking off the 2025 Helger’s Sportsman season at Seekonk Speedway, Serydynski picked up right where he left off – in Victory Lane. The driver of the No. 22 took the lead quickly in the opening 25-lap race of the season and truly never looked back.

Serydynski held off a duo of Lambert brothers, who finished second and third. It was Colby Lambert in the runner-up spot with his brother Jeremy not far behind in third. Doug Benoit and defending division champion Adam Pettey followed in fourth and fifth.

Albert Clements, Nick Brightman, Cody Tripp, Austin Flanagan and Nick Wood finished the top-10.

The Helger’s Sportsman will be back on track on Saturday, May 10, for another 25-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates.

Mike Cavallaro Back in Prime Form in Sport Trucks With Opening Day Win

SEEKONK, Mass. — After the finish to the 2024 season Mike Cavallaro had, you knew he was going to come out of the box strong to open the 2025 campaign at Seekonk Speedway.

Cavallaro scored career win number 66 in the first race of the season, holding off the charges of defending champion Rick Martin and Tim Bolger Jr. to capture the victory.

Cavallaro certainly knows his way around the third-mile. Inside the top-five on the all-time wins list at the Action Track of the East, Cavallaro finds himself at the front of the pack often. He jumped out to the lead on lap three and never looked back from there. In a race that went green over the stretch run, Cavallaro held pace over Martin and Bolger, who finished behind him on the podium in second and third.

After his motor expired in practice, Jake Vanada used a borrowed ride from Colton Teague and the Campbell family to score a fourth-place finish, while Ethan Heilborn was fifth at the finish. DJ Thibeault, Dane Saritelli, Amy Helger, Mike Duarte and Darryl Church finished out the top-10.

The Sport Trucks will be back on track on Saturday, May 10, for round one of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, a 35-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates.
