ACT & PASS Unveil Local Division Purses for Thompson 150
Waterbury, VT & Naples, ME — American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS), officials have unveiled the purse structure for all local Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park local divisions at the Thompson 150 on Wednesday, September 2. The locals will race for nearly $24,000 in combined posted awards on a card that also includes the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.
The Sunoco Modifieds will have a 30-lap, $1,500-to-win feature as part of the Thompson 150. Second place receives $900 with a $600 prize for the third-place finisher. Every racer who takes the green flag will collect a minimum of $200 with more than $8,500 in total awards for a 24-car starting field.
The winner of the Thompson Late Model 25-lap feature will add a cool $1,200 to their bank account with $725 for second and $550 for third. At least $175 is guaranteed to all starters with more than $7,000 in total prize money.
Both the Thompson Limited Sportsmen and SK Light Modifieds will be racing for $350 to win and $100 to start. The Mini Stocks, meanwhile, are guaranteed $200 to win and $50 to start. The full payouts for all divisions can be found at www.acttour.com/thompson-speedway.
ACT and PASS officials also said all divisions are expected to use the same rules that were posted the previous offseason. The Thompson Late Models, in addition to using ACT rules, will also use the ACT tire. Other information will be announced early next week.
Racers will get a first taste of action at a Thompson Speedway open practice day on Wednesday, August 19. The pits will open at 10:00am with practice from 12:00-5:00pm. This may be extended to 6:00pm depending on turnout. All CDC guidelines and state/local health and safety mandates will be followed.
Pit admission for the open practice is $25 per person. The practice day is open to all division/series that have been confirmed for either the Thompson 150 or the World Series of Speedway Racing. Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park host its first oval track event of the 2020 season on Wednesday, September 2 with the Thompson 150 for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. They’ll be joined by the Sunoco Modifieds, Late Models, Limited Sportsmen, SK Light Modifieds, and Mini Stocks. Qualifying begins at 5:00pm with features starting at 6:00pm.
