Seekonk Speedway Road Trip Tour Announces 2021 Virtual Schedule
Six-race iRacing Series to Preview Upcoming Real-life Season
SEEKONK, Mass. — Seekonk Speedway is ready to roll with a real-life 2021 schedule, but before the first green flag drops on the third-mile oval, the track is heading back virtual. Seekonk announced on ______ a six-race virtual iRacing Road Trip Tour — with six races spread across six different tracks, with six different race cars. The races will spread across four months — from January to April — leading into the opening of Seekonk’s real-life race season on Sunday, May 2.
All six races will run with a fixed setup — meaning all drivers will have the same setup under the hood — boiling it down to the drivers that can show their talents behind the wheel. The series will compete at some of the top short-tracks across the country that are currently on iRacing, since Seekonk Speedway is not currently on the service. The series will once again stream live, for free, to Seekonk race fans on Speed51.com.
“This iRacing schedule is going to bring some of Seekonk’s top competitors together for a little bit of pre-season fun,” Kyle Souza, iRacing Coordinator at Seekonk Speedway, said. “With six different cars, we are likely to see multiple different winners and help to preview the real-life season along the way.”
The schedule begins at Lanier National Speedway on Thursday, January 7, with a 75-lap Street Stock event. It will continue just three weeks later, with a Tour Modified debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for another 100-lap feature. The ARCA Menards Series Car will bring Seekonk back to Five Flags Speedway on Thursday, February 25, for 100 laps. The Super Late Model — the same car that carried Seekonk through the 2020 iRacing Tour — will return to Myrtle Beach Speedway on Thursday, March 11, for 100 laps. The final two races will take drivers to Langley Speedway with the Legends Car (50 laps) on March 25 and the Late Model at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (100 laps) on April 22. All races will be run with caution laps not counting except the 100-lap race at New Hampshire in the Modifieds. No extra tire sets will be available for drivers in any of the events.
The qualifications for drivers to be able to compete have been adjusted slightly from 2020. In order to be eligible for the six-race tour, drivers must fit one of the major categories below. The final decision on whether a driver meets the category will be made by race control.

- 2020 Seekonk Speedway Registered Drivers
- Previous full-time Seekonk competitors
- Immediate crew members on weekly Seekonk cars (owner, crew chief, spotter, mechanic)
- Seekonk Speedway Staff Members (past or present)
Like the 2020 Road Trip Tour, Seekonk will distribute a point fund to competitors at the end of the six races. Each race event will be capped at 60 drivers that meet the criteria registering to compete. Registrations will be $10 per driver for each race or $60 for the season.
