With just two races to go, the Legends Cars will produce something completely different for drivers. In 12 previous Seekonk virtual events, nine events have been contested with the Super Late Model, and one each with the ARCA Menards Series car, Tour-Type Modified and Street Stock. Many of the competitors are familiar with the Legends Car product iRacing offers, but it will be uncharted waters for some.
Kuhn, Axsom, Tessier, Murray and Evans are all entered to compete in the race. They are joined by names like former Seekonk Bandolero champion Reese Bogue, and Late Model champion Dylan Estrella, along with Nick Wood, Elias Dib, Darryl Church, Cody Tripp, Ben Amado and more.
Drivers will be chasing $75 to score the feature win, courtesy of Barrington Automotive, along with additional funds to the remaining of the top-five finishers. A race sponsorship is set at $300 — including $200 going towards the top-five in each event — and $100 going towards the season-ending point fund. On top of the race awards and point fund, each event has a large selection of contingency awards on the line. Additional sponsors of the Road Trip Tour for 2021 include Watermark Electric, Helger’s Southcoast Power Equipment and Richie’s Insulation. For a full list of contingency awards planned, see below:
Homerun Heats: Each heat race winner will earn $4 courtesy of Watermark Electric
“Hard Luck” Award Courtesy of Atlantic Yacht Rigging: $20 to the hard luck driver by Mike Floyd & Atlantic Yacht Rigging
Halfway Bonus: Anchor Paws Rescue will provide $20 to the driver that leads the halfway lap at each championship event
Least Incident Points: One Free Paint Scheme To the Driver That Scores The Least Amount of Incident Points Per Event
Helger’s Southcoast Power Move Of the Race Award: $20 to the driver that improves the most positions in the feature
Bernier’s Liquors Lucky Spot: $25 to a random driver who finishes between 8th and 16th in each Seekonk iRacing event
Lucas Milhaupt Fourth-Place: Lucas Milhaupt will sponsor the fourth-place driver at lap 44 with a $4.44 award at each event
RKM Fast Time: Ryan Kuhn Setup Shop offers a $10 award at each race to the driver with the fastest single-lap qualifying time
Following Langley, only one additional race on the Road Trip Tour will crown the champion. Teams will have just about a month off before finishing the season on Thursday, April 22, with the Helger’s Southcoast Power Equipment 100 for the Late Models at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
