Rain Stops Saturday 171 Speedway STSS Cajun Region Appearance

LEESVILLE, PA – Mother Nature wins this one.

The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco ‘Cajun Region’ event at 171 Speedway in Leesville, La., scheduled for Saturday, May 1 has fallen to rain. After rainfall on Friday and afternoon precipitation was predicted for Saturday night, speedway management opted to pull the plug on the first appearance by the STSS Cajun Region Modified contingent at the Leesville track.

Speedway management will work to secure a make-up date in the coming days.

Saturday’s event was scheduled to be the third round of the Day Motor Sports Cajun Region point series. Tommy Rascoe, the winner at Thunder Valley Speedway in Glenmora, La., leads the championship chase.

In two events run thus far, there have been a pair of different winners: Cody Robbins in the opener at Chatham Speedway and Rascoe at Thunder Valley.

The next scheduled event for the Cajun Region is a return to Jerry Hobson’s Chatham Speedway in Chatham, La., on Saturday, May 29.
