NETS Trucks Participate at Albany-Saratoga Speedway
The New England Truck Series (NETS) and Albany-Saratoga Speedway have announced earlier this season that the two parties have reached an agreement to bring the New England based touring series trucks to the famed New York oval.
On Friday, August 27, the stars of NETS will take to the 4/10-mile oval as part of their regular scheduled racing adding in the pro-stock division.
“This is a great opportunity for our Series,” Lorraine Pard, NETS Series Director said. We were disappointed that we were rained out in April, so it is great to be able to find a date that worked out for both parties. I know that many of our drivers are looking forwarding to competing on the asphalt at Albany-Saratoga. I know I am!”
Seasoned veterans as well as rookie drivers are expected to enter this event. Atop the list is three-time NETS Champion, Andy Lindeman (Poestenkill, NY), who will be the hometown favorite seeing as Lindeman fields a Modified entry at Albany-Saratoga weekly. 2008 Rookie of the Year, Greg Butler is also expected to enter his East Hampton Auto Parts-sponsored truck. New York native, Derek Chriss (Averill Park, NY), who has four years of experience with a 2006 Rookie of the Year crown under his belt, has also announced his intentions to compete.
2005 NETS Champion Willy Auchmoody (Highland, NY) Lee-Boy sponsored Chevy, came out of retirement and will be joining the field. 2010 Rookie of the Year Candidate, Craig Cashman, has also announced that he will be in attendance with his 602 crate engine-powered entry, which is sponsored by Dave’s Auto Enterprises.
As part of this event, teams and drivers will be available for questions from fans, as well as for future NETS competitors. Series Director Lorraine Pard and Chief Technical Inspector, Bob Ormond, will also be available for questions.
Post time for racing is 6:45pm, Friday night, August 27. For more information go to www.newenglandtruckseries.com.
