SUMMARY: Justin Stone scored a memorable victory worth $2,500 when he defeated his father, Todd, on “Legends Night.” Todd Stone, a three-time champion, had been recognized as part of a ceremony earlier in the evening honoring past champions and star drivers, as had third-place finisher Tim LaDuc. The race featured six different leaders including LaDuc, who had an exciting duel with Don Mattison. Justin Stone started 18th and came to life late in the race, leading only the final nine laps. Todd Stone came from 21st to pass LaDuc for second with less than five circuits left.

5. 211 Anthony Ryan – Benson, VT
SUMMARY: Point leader Austin Comes got back on the good foot with his third win of the season, following a disastrous Mid-Season Championship event two weeks ago. Comes passed Mike McGinn for the lead with nine laps left and outlasted the field on a green-white-checkered restart with two laps remaining. Dakota Green’s runner-up showing was the best of his young career, and Evan Roberts came from 21st starting position for third.

1. M7 Chris Murray – Fair Haven, VT
2. 52 Jim McKiernan – Moriah Center, NY
3. 55 Andrew FitzGerald – West Rutland, VT
4. 3B Paul Braymer – Granville, NY
5. 22 Mark Norris – Benson, VT
SUMMARY: Chris Murray wasted little time in making his move from 8th at the start to take the lead on lap 3. Murray ran away from the field, but Jim McKiernan made a late charge to finish a tight second; it was Murray’s seventh win of 2021, and the 32nd of his career, breaking a tie with Hector Stratton for 11th place on Devil’s Bowl Speedway’s all-time win list since the track opened in 1967.

2. 78 Chris Conroy – Newport, NH
3. 27X Brian Blake – Cornwall, VT
4. 18 Daryl Gebo – Orwell, VT
5. 73 Willie Rice – Poultney, VT
SUMMARY: Point leader Chris Sumner won a wild, 33-car feature for his fifth victory of the season, taking the lead at lap 9 and pulling away by a convincing margin.
Friend Construction 500cc Mini Sprint Feature – 15 Laps
1. 723 Ray Hanson – Orwell, VT
2. 42JR Kamden Duffy – Richmond, NH
3. 10 John Smith – Poultney, VT
4. 17 Kaidin White – Monkton, VT
5. 67 Kevin Smith – Brandon, VT
SUMMARY: Ray Hanson stretched his point lead with his track-leading eighth win of the season. Hanson started eighth and needed only four laps to get to the front in the caution-free race.
