Al Barnett Passes Away at 89
Al Barnett, 89, passed away on Dec. 5, 2021, at his residence in Woodbridge.
Born in New Haven on February 22nd, 1932, son of the late Samuel and Ida (Spector) Barnett. Predeceased by his wife of 55 years Margaret and son James. Father of David (Betsy) Barnett of Libertyville, Illinois, and Caroline Barnett, of New Haven. Granddaughters Meg, Annie, and Ellie. Al attended New Haven Public Schools and graduated from the University of New Haven.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Al was discharged as a 1st Sergeant in 1954. Al was a stock car race driver in the 1950s and 1960s at local speedways, and he served as a police officer for over 30 years with the New Haven and Yale University Police Departments.
Funeral services will be held at Workman’s Circle Cemetery, 50 Farwell St. West Haven, CT. on Thursday, December 9th at 12:00 noon. The Robert E.
