A Grand Finale: ‘12k to 12k’ Closes Georgetown Speedway Season Nov. 11

GEORGETOWN, DE – A grand finale.

The final event for 2023 at Georgetown Speedway is a big one. Rescheduled twice from earlier this season, the ‘12k for the 12k’ remembering Gary Simpson brings down the curtain on the season at the Sussex County oval on Saturday, November 11.

Millman’s NAPA Auto Parts Modifieds headline the program in a 32-lap, $12,000-to-win feature event, recognizing Simpson’s ‘12k’ number utilized as both a driver and car owner.

Simpson, a friend of Delaware racing, unfortunately lost his battle with cancer in October 2021.

Joining the Modifieds on the program are the Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman (22 laps, $1,212 to win), First State Chevrolet Crate Late Models (20 laps, up to $1,000 to win), Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers.

Pit gates open at 1 p.m., with grandstand gates unlocked at 2 p.m. Hot laps begin at 4 p.m. and racing gets underway at 5 p.m.

Georgetown Speedway ’23 track championships will be decided in the Modified, Crate 602 Sportsman and Crate Late Model divisions.

Danny Bouc of Pipersville, Pa. (Modified), Joe Toth of Upper Makefield, Pa. (Crate 602 Sportsman) and Trevor Collins of Seaford, Del. (Crate Late Model) lead the standings entering the finale.
