EVENT PREVIEW: Star Speedway Preparing For Bob Webber Sr. Memorial in 350 Supers; Granite State Pro Stock Series Visit This Saturday, May 6

(May 3, 2023) — Two of Star Speedway’s biggest races of the 2023 season are on the schedule for this Saturday night, all in the same day. Not only is the Granite State Pro Stock Series rolling into town for the Hedges Excavation 100, joining them are 350 Supers in action for the Bob Webber Sr Memorial 47 lap race, with a purse already over $3,750 to win. Three other Star Speedway regular divisions will also be on track with the K Cob Slingshots, 2 To Go Show Six Shooters presented by Top Gun Roofing and Troy Morse Trucking Cruisers presented by Night Owl Creations on the busy Saturday afternoon schedule.
The Granite State Pro Stock Series will be opening their 2023 season at Star Speedway on Saturday with a 100-lap showcase. Some of the top Pro Stock teams in the Northeast will be in town drivers Wayne Helliwell Jr., Josh King, Luke Hinckley and Bryan Kruczek have already filed entries and will likely be a factor on race day.

In the other major event on the schedule, the 350 Supermodifieds will run a 47-lap main event in memory of longtime Star Speedway owner and operator Bob Webber Sr. Defending track champion Jeffrey Battle took home the win in the division’s first race of the 2023 season last Saturday. Eddie Witkum, Bobby Timmons, Ryan Battle and Brad Babb all showed speed on opening night and will be contenders for the win in one of the division’s biggest races. Babb is the defending event winner in a race that continues to see a purse growth as it gets closer.


The K-COB Plumbing and Heating Slingshots will also be on track for their third race of the 2023 season. Dave Cameron is two for two this season and will definitely be looking to continue his winning ways. Along with the Slingshots the 2 to go Show Six Shooters presented by Top Gun Roofing will be in action Saturday. Last week Adam Knowles took home top honors followed to the line by Bunny Brawl winner Billy Eastman. The Troy Morse Trucking Cruisers presented by Night Owl Creations will be on hand for the second race in their divisions history, the inaugural race was won by Trevor Michaud.

Heat races are scheduled to begin at 5 pm on Saturday afternoon with the Six Shooters on track first. General admission will be $25 for ages 11 and up, kids 10 and under are free. Pit gates will open up at 1 pm for Star members, admission will be $35 for Star members, and $40 for nonmembers. There is a Friday night practice session from 4-8PM.
