Gendron Doubles Up in Street Stocks, Mcdougal, Pelland, Michaud, Osborne, Washburn, Beaulieu Score Star Wins June 24

Star Speedway was able to beat out mother nature yet again Saturday night, getting their full schedule of racing, including make up features in without any major interruption. Saturday’s schedule showcased the visiting Wicked Good Racing Vintage Series making their first Star appearance of the 2023 season. The Late Models, Street Stocks (who had double features scheduled), Slingshots, Six Shooters, Pure Stocks, and Super Troopers were all in action as well. Bubba Pelland made his trip to Star Speedway worthwhile on Saturday, as he grabbed the win in the Wicked Good Racing Series feature event.

In Star Speedway Late Model action Connor McDougal made his first Star Speedway start of the year and was able to best a solid field of competitors and notch the main event win. Cam Curtis crossed the stripe in the second spot behind McDougal at races end, giving the driver has first Star podium of the season as well. Justin Storace backed up a Late Model opening day win with a solid third place finish on Saturday night.

Shane Gendron had himself a night in Woody’s Street Stock action, as he claimed both feature wins. Multiple-time 2023 winner Joe Ventrillo had a fast car again Saturday, only to be bested by Gendron, as Ventrillo was the runner up in both of the divisions main events. Rob MacRae had a strong run in Street Stock feature number one, as he took home the third position at features end. Rob DeAlmeida had his best Star Speedway run of the season in feature two, as he had a solid third place finish.

In K-COB Slingshot action, it was yet another young gun taking down their first career win in the division. This time it was Jenna Beaulieu who backed up a solid start to her 2023 rookie campaign with her first ever Slingshot win. Defending division champion Justin Gaillioux, who has had a string of bad luck to start off this season, had a fast car and grabbed the runner up spot behind Beaulieu at races end. Nate LeClair notched yet another podium finish to start off his Slingshot career, finishing third.

Zachary Washburn was the man to beat on Saturday in 2 To Go Show Six Shooter presented by Top Gun Roofing action, as he bested the field of competition on this way to victory. Wayne Foster had a solid run in the divisions main event, as he took home the runner up position behind Washburn. The third and final podium position went to Paul Childs, who put together a strong run of his own on Saturday night.

In the Pure Stock feature event it was veteran Billy Osborne who again took home checkers. Sean Nadeau crossed the stripe in the second spot at features end, trailing only Osborne. The third position went to Gage Osborne, who put together another consistent night of racing en route to another podium finish.

In Star Super Trooper action, the future of Star Speedway’s driving talent was again Traver Michaud, who bested the field of young drivers on his way to the feature win. The Star Speedway youth division has seen four of their graduates excel in the Slingshot division over the last few seasons, with the group of Dwight Souther Jr., Joey Fraser, Jaxson Filippone, and now Jenna Beaulieu all notching wins in the Saturday night weekly division.
