Burns Doubles Down, Scoring First Career Pro Stock Win
SEEKONK, Mass. — May 10, 2025 will be a night to remember for Jacob “Rowdy” Burns and all fans who were at Seekonk Speedway to witness his impressive performance.
For the first time since 1958, a driver captured NASCAR Saturday victories in two different divisions on the same night. Burns opened the night by winning the 30-lap Late Model main event, and followed it up by capturing the 40-lap Pro Stock feature to end the night – his first career Pro Stock victory.
Burns made the pass on Mike Brightman for the top spot and looked to be clear sailing out front en route to his first career win. However, a late caution bunched the field up and gave others a shot to make a run at the front.
When the dust settled, it was Burns taking down the win, holding off the hard charges of defending champion Dylan Estrella to get the job done.
Dave Darling finished third, with Bobby Pelland III and Nick Lascuola rounding out the top-five. Brightman was sixth, followed by Andrew Gomes, Mark Jenison, opening day winner Vinnie Arrenegado, and Dick Benoit rounding out the top-10.
The Pro Stocks will be back on the track on Saturday, May 17 at 6PM for another feature event – the first round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, set for 60 laps. Burns Rockets to Win Using Outside Lane in Late Model Return
SEEKONK, Mass. — The outside groove was the name of the game for Jacob “Rowdy” Burns on Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway. Before he scored his first career Pro Stock win, Burns took down the victory in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series Late Model 30-lap main event.
Burns, who missed the opening day Late Model race focusing on his Pro Stock, charged from the middle of the pack to the front, and caught leader Charlie Rose inside of 10 laps remaining.
At the time, it was clear Burns was the faster car – but getting around can be a different story. Burns drove to the top side of the track, drew even with Rose after a few laps, and eventually made the pass with only a couple of laps to go. From there, he drove off into the sunset. After winning countless Late Model races last year, Burns made his return in a big way in week two.
Rose settled for second, one week after having mechanical trouble while in the lead on opening day. Defending Late Model Rookie of the Year Andrew Gomes finished third, with Chase Belcher charging from the middle of the pack to fourth, and Ryan Souliere rounding out the top-five.
Connor Souza was sixth, followed by Josh Hedges, Mark Jenison, opening day winner Luke LeBrun, and David Lougee.
The Late Models will be back on the track on Saturday, May 17 at 6PM for another 30 lap main event. For all of the latest Seekonk Speedway news, follow the track on social media. For the most up-to-date information and ticket sales, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com.
Colby Lambert Wins in Week Two After Another Wild Sportsman Feature
SEEKONK, Mass. — Saturday’s Helger’s Sportsman feature was once again a showcase of why the division provides some of the most exciting racing at the front of the pack in all of New England.
After a 25-lap slugfest, Colby Lambert came out on top, scoring his first victory of the season. Lambert was on the podium on opening day and it didn’t take him long to find victory lane. The most consistent driver in the division in 2024, Lambert is showing to be picking up right where he left off.
Defending division champion Adam Pettey was right with him to the line on the outside lane, scoring another top-five, finishing second. Opening day winner Scott Serydynski Jr. followed in third – with Jeremy Lambert charging through the pack after a mid-race issue to still salvage a strong top-five finish in fourth. Josh Gerard, an outside invader, rounded out the top-five.
Both Lambert brothers, Pettey and Serydynski have finished top-five in the first two races of the season.
Charlie Guardino was sixth, followed by Nick Brightman, Doug Benoit, Ed Perry, and Nick Wood.
The Helger’s Sportsman will be back on the track on Saturday, May 17 at 6PM for another feature event – the first round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, set for 35 laps. Heilborn Gets the Job Done for His First Career Sport Truck Win
SEEKONK, Mass. — Ethan Heilborn continued to show in 2024 he was inching closer and closer to his first career Sport Truck win.
When the 2025 season opened, Heilborn came out swinging, scoring a top-five run to open the year. In week two, he was the man to beat. Heilborn took down his first career Sport Truck victory in the first round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series on Saturday, May 10.
After a rough and tumble start, including a large wreck on the opening lap, the race settled in nicely with Heilborn jumping out to the lead on lap 12. From there, he led the remainder of the extra-distance to rocket into Victory Lane.
While he did that, Dane Saritelli settled in behind after leading from laps three through 11. He would cross the line second behind Heilborn, a strong run for the driver of the No. 45 machine. Opening day winner Mike Cavallaro wasn’t far behind in third, coming out on top of a challenging battle with Amy Helger, who finished right behind him in fourth. Darryl Church followed in the fifth position at the checkered flag.
Tim Bolger Jr., Tom Scully III, Lenny Guy, Andrew Rittman and Jack Brewer finished the top-10.
The Sport Trucks will be back on the track on Saturday, May 17 at 6PM for another feature event set for 25 laps. For all of the latest Seekonk Speedway news, follow the track on social media. For the most up to date information and ticket sales, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com.
