NHMS Highlights Fastest Two-Wheeled Racing

Loudon, NH — At speeds of up to 165 mph, the fastest racing on two-wheels will continue at New Hampshire Motor Speedway today during the 88th running of the Loudon Classic.

The Sidecar Racers Association will kick off the day with a practice session followed by an eight-lap featured event.

This three-wheeled series is considered to be one of the most amazing sights on the track. It is the only form of motorsport where both the passenger and driver both steer the vehicle.

Riders of the Loudon Road Race Series are revved up for a full day of racing, including the main event of the weekend, the 88th annual Loudon Classic.

Shane Narbonne will start first, followed by Eric Wood, Christian Cronin, Scott Greenwood and Tyler Sweney round out the top-five qualifiers. The 88th Loudon Classic will have a payout of over $1000.

Last year, Greenwood claimed the checkered flag during the thrilling 20-lap event. He led Cronin and 2009 Classic winner Narbonne for a complete New England sweep.

The third consecutive Ron Meade Toy Run and parade lap will take place today, honoring the memory of long time New Hampshire Motor Speedway employee and motorsports publicist, Ron Meade.

The ride leaves from Meredith High School (Inter-lakes) and will travel to “The Magic Mile,” where Ron was an employee.

Those who participate are asked to bring an unwrapped toy for Speedway Children’s Charities. Toys will go to New Hampshire children in need.

Other off-track activities include a concert from the band Undercover Operatives in the S2 parking lot from 12:15 p.m. until 4:15 p.m.

The 88th annual Loudon Classic runs through Sunday. Tickets are available at the main gate.

Great seats are still available for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on Sunday, July 17. To purchase them please call the NHMS ticket hotline at (603)783-4931 or visit www.nhms.com.
