Weather causes Speedbowl to cancel September 5 Wild ‘n Wacky race program
Waterford, CT — Inclement weather and wet conditions forced Waterford Speedbowl to postpone its scheduled Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday race program for September 5. Only two weeks remain in the track’s mid-week racing series.
The wet weather did not impede upon a scheduled event for the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut 2012 fundraising kickoff event at the track. That event will go on as scheduled for invited groups and guests only.
The Speedbowl returns to action on Friday evening with its popular “Sho & Go at the ‘Bowl” with spectator drags and car cruise, highlighted by free grandstands admission for spectators of all ages.
On Saturday evening, NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing returns at the shoreline along with the second and final visit of the 2012 season by the popular Valenti Modified Racing Series. The SK Modifieds®, Bob Valenti Auto Mall Late Models, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks join Saturday’s racing card.
On Sunday, Motor Jam will take over the Speedbowl with Connecticut’s largest custom car, truck and bike show.
