Stafford Motor Speedway 2009 Limited Late Model Rules Released

Stafford Springs, CT — Stafford Motor Speedway has released their 2009 rules for the Limited Late Model division, which are available online in the DOWNLOADS/RULES section of www.staffordspeedway.com.

Rule change highlights for the 2009 Limited Late Model season include: Jacking bolts will be allowed on the front suspension. Shock location has been moved from the inside to the outside of the frame rail and the Pro WB Series Shocks will be the mandatory shock on all Limited Late Model cars. Disc brakes were previously only allowed on the fron of the car but now will be allowed on all four wheels, and teams can use the new XYG Tube Metric snout. Teams will be allowed the option of running a Ford 9 inch non-locking rear end.

“Over the course of the 2008 season, our tech staff has been working closely with our competitors on crafting these changes for the 2009 season,” said Stafford COO / GM Mark Arute. “Recently there has been a lot of discussion regarding the new rule package and we wanted to get these rules released as soon as possible to clear up any misconceptions and allow our teams to adequately prepare their cars for the 2009 season.”

During the course of the 2008 season, Stafford Motor Speedway developed a separate engine rule package utilizing the Chevy 602 spec motor for the Limited Late Model division. The 602 Chevy spec motor rules package included a weight break, a super clutch, and stainless steel headers, which has proven to be a highly competitive engine package. The Chevy 602 spec motor costs less than $3,200, making this engine package an extremely affordable option to Limited Late Model competitors.

2009 Rulebooks for Stafford’s SK Modfiied®, Late Model, SK Light Modified, and DARE Stock divisions are forthcoming and will be posted to the DOWNLOADS/RULES section of SMS Online at www.staffordspeedway.com as soon as they are completed.
