Serydynski Jumps to Second in Points with Street Stock Victory
Johnston Driver within 5 of Points Leader Lovelace
SEEKONK, MA – (July 20, 2013) – Crystal Serydynski of Johnston, RI picked up her second win of the season on Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway. Serydynski made the winning pass on defending champion Paul Lallier on lap 15. “He left the bottom open for just a split second and I was able to take advantage of it,” Serydynski said.
“He (Lallier) made for a real good race. He kept the pressure on me, which I didn’t expect anything less. I just knew once I held that bottom (lane) and I held my own groove, I would be okay. I don’t mind a little bit of the pressure because that makes for an exciting race.
“I have to thank everybody. First and foremost, I want to thank Norm Holden for coming out tonight and congratulations on your induction into the Wall of Fame. I have to thank Lemeyers Collision Center, Bishop and Weeden Fire Protection, Gerry’s General Maintenance, Nat’s Racing Engines, … Dr. Feelgood, NAPA in Cranston and Johnston – they’re a huge supporter of me this year. I have a new sponsor this year also, Harbor Enterprises.”
With two victories and seven consecutive top-10s, Serydynski emphasized that consistent finishes will be important for the remaining nine races. “It’s important but it’s not a make it break moment just yet. Consistency is all can ask for keep the gap close.”
While on her victory lap, Serydynski had a new theme song playing, Miranda Lambert’s “Fastest Girl in Town.” “I’ve had that song since it came out. They’ve always had problems playing it! I was happy it finally worked.”
