DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour visits Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va., on Saturday, Aug. 31. Below is a statistical look at the recent performance of the tour and selected drivers at Langley, as well as some other statistical trends:
Langley Race Setup
• The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour visit to Langley Speedway on Saturday marks the eighth event on a 12-race schedule as the tour heads down the home stretch of the 2013 season.
• George Brunnhoelzl III holds a 20-point edge in the championship standings in his quest for a fourth tour title.
NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour At Langley
• The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour has made three visits to Langley Speedway.
• The .395-mile track was built in 1950 and played host to what is now known as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series from 1964 to 1970.
• The three tour events at Langley have resulted in three different race winners – Tim Brown in 2010, Andy Seuss in 2011 and Jason Myers in 2012.
• There have also been three different pole winners at Langley – James Civali in 2010, Burt Myers in 2011 and Danny Bohn in 2012.
• Andy Seuss is the only driver to finish in the top five in all three tour races at Langley.
• Four drivers – Tim Brown, Frank Fleming, Jason Myers and Andy Seuss – finished in the top 10 in all three tour races at Langley.
