PRACTICE: Brunnhoelzl III Tops SNMP Charts
Fast in G-Oil 150 Practice
KENLY, N.C. – George Brunnhoelzl III topped the speed charts in final practice for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour’s G-Oil 150 at Southern National Motorsports Park on Saturday.
The West Babylon, N.Y., native turned in a fast lap of 14.628 seconds (98.441 mph) on the .4-mile high-banked paved oval. Brunnhoelzl, who enters the weekend with a 20-point lead in the championship standings, will look to win his 21st career pole and first at SNMP when qualifying gets underway at 5:30 p.m.
Tim Brown, who has one victory in four SNMP starts, finished second on the speed chart at 14.665 (98.193), followed by Andy Seuss at 14.765 (97.528), Kyle Ebersole at 14.775 (97.462) and Danny Bohn at 14.778 (97.442).
Two-time SNMP winner Burt Myers, looking for his third consecutive win at the track, finished sixth on the practice chart, with John Smith, J.R. Bertuccio, A.J. Winstead and Mike Norman rounding out the top 10.
The G-Oil 150 is slated to take the green flag on Saturday at 7:45 p.m.
