Open wheel series helps close season at Finale Weekend October 4-5

Waterford, CT — Waterford Speedbowl management and Valenti Modified Racing Series officials have announced the popular New England based tour has been added to the track’s Finale Weekend in 2014. The series will highlight a busy 13-division weekend which also includes the NEMA Midgets as well as the Speedbowl’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series plus other divisions. Practice and qualifying for the series is scheduled for Saturday, October 4th and the feature race will be run on Sunday, October 5th.

The additional appearance gives the Valenti Modified Racing Series a total of three stops to the Speedbowl in 2014. The series was already scheduled as part of the track’s opening Blastoff Weekend March 29th – 30th as well as the annual Wings & Wheels event on August 9th. All three races are scheduled for 100 laps of green flag racing.

Finale Weekend begins a busy stretch for the Valenti Modified Racing Series and is expected to play a key role in the series championship run. “Their races with us are always extremely competitive and the staff is top-notch to work with” offered Speedbowl owner and promoter Terry Eames. “There’s a lot of Speedbowl roots there and we’re excited to bring them back to close the season”.
