Northeast Motorsports Expo at Augusta Civic Center Jan. 10-12
The 26th Northeast Motorsports Expo and Trade Show is coming to the Augusta Civic Center in August, Maine on January 10-12, 2014.
The Pit Crew Challenge will be sponsored by Heluva Good. First place pays $500 plus awards, second place $250 plus awards, third-16th place get awards. Each crew will have five team members: a jack person, two tire changers and two tire carriers. Qualifying takes place on Friday at 7:30 PM and on Saturday at 12 PM from 5 PM-7:30 PM. The finals will be on Sunday at 12 PM. It will consist of the top 16 teams from the four qualifying rounds.
The Mainelys’ Awards will begin Friday at 6:30. Maine Vintage Race Car Association will also have auctions. Friday night will have a silent auction. The live auction is on Saturday from 2 PM to 4 PM. For more information visit http://www.northeastmotorsportsexpo.net/#Vintage.
Special competitions: the track and tour competition is at noon. Each team consists of a jack person-tour or track official, two tire changers-tour or track officials, two tire carriers-drivers from that tour or track. The winning team receives trophy and awards.
Media competition: winning team receives trophy and awards as well as $500 towards charity of choice. Each team consists of: jack person-a driver, tire changer-media person, tire changer-woman, tire carrier-person over 50, tire carrier-person 14 or younger, ladies competition: winning team receives trophy and awards. Seminars will also be a part of the event. The Sponsorship Seminar presented by Texas Roadhouse and the North East Mini Stock Tour is Saturday from 12:30 PM to 2 PM. Shawn Waddell of Waddell Communications will host the Spotter Seminar sponsored by Racing Electronics on Saturday from 4:30 PM to 6 PM.
Team EJP, Quirk Auto, New England Racing Fuel, Award Champs, and Heluva Good will have sponsor displays.
