Derek Robbie Receives Championship awards
Derek Robbie of Bellingham, Massachusetts received two awards during the 2013 Pro Four Modifieds Series of New England Banquet. The annual banquet and awards ceremony took place at -Clarion Hotel in Seekonk, Massachusetts on January 18, 2014.
During the evening’s events, Derek took home his first Pro4 Limited Sportsman Division championship trophy. Derek finished the season with 6 Limited Division Sportsman wins and 8 top ten finishes in twelve races.
The highlight of Robbie’s night was the receiving the 2013 Most Improved Driver award. “This is an awesome award to receive, because it is voted on by my peers, and the award shows that they see the improvement, and effort I put in over this year to become their champion” stated Robbie. His Car owner, Crew chief, and dad, Doug also received the Mechanic of the Year award.
Derek would like to thank several people for his successful season, starting with his family owned team, DDR Motorsports. Owners Doug & Teri Robbie strive hard to give Derek a competitive car each week. He would also like to thank his sisters and his girlfriend for standing beside him throughout the season. In addition he would like to say a great big thank you to Mark Giordano for his assistance this year as his driving coach. Finslly wants to give a big thank you to all the people who assisted him on and off the race track throughout the year.
