QUALIFYING: Seuss Earns 10th Pole

NH Driver Will Lead Whelen Southern Mod Opener To Green

SOPHIA, N.C. — Andy Seuss continues his mastery of Caraway Speedway.

The driver of the No. 11 Ideal Finance/Phoenix Motors Chevrolet earned his 10th career NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Coors Light Pole Award — and seventh at Caraway — Sunday afternoon. Seuss put down a lap of 16.050 seconds (102.050 mph) around the .455-mile banked oval.

Seuss won the final two races of 2013 at Caraway and will start the Whelen Opener 150 on the front row alongside JR Bertuccio. Bertuccio qualified second fastest at 16.079 (101.872).

Kyle Ebersole was third quickest at 16.094 (101.777), followed by three-time defending tour champion George Brunnhoelzl III. Brunnhoelzl had two wins and three runner-up finishes at Caraway last year. Rookie Joe Ryan Osborne qualified fifth.

Danny Bohn will start sixth, followed by Cole Powell, Thomas Stinson, Jason Myers and Luke Fleming.

The Whelen Opener 150 is schedule to start at approxiametly 4:15 p.m.
