PRACTICE: Santos Tops Waterford Charts
Fastest In Mr. Rooter 161 Prep Session
WATERFORD, Conn. – Bobby Santos remains the class of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour field when it comes to practices as he led his fourth session in a row in preparation for tonight’s Mr. Rooter 161 at Waterford Speedbowl.
Santos, from Franklin, Massachusetts, posted a fast lap of 13.950 seconds (96.744 mph) in the 75-minute practice Saturday afternoon at the .375-mile oval. Santos also led all three practice sessions in the twice-delayed previous race for the Whelen Modified Tour at Stafford Motor Speedway.
Second on the speed chart Saturday was Woody Pitkat at 13.971 (96.629) followed by Donny Lia in third at 13.991 (96.491).

The rest of the top 10 in Mr. Rooter 161 included: Justin Bonsignore, Ron Yuhas Jr., Eric Goodale, Ron Silk, Rowan Pennink, Shawn Solomito and Tommy Barrett Jr.
Current season points leader, and 2012 Waterford winner, Doug Coby ranked 15th on the speed chart. Defending race winner Ryan Preece was 16th.
Coors Light Pole Award qualifying is scheduled for 5 p.m., and the Mr. Rooter 161 will go green at approximately 9 p.m.
