QUALIFYING: Bonsignore Remains Hot

NY Driver Scores Whelen Modified Pole At Monadnock

WINCHESTER, N.H. – Justin Bonsignore backed up his fast time in practice earlier in the afternoon and won the Coors Light Pole for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 200 at Monadnock Speedway Saturday.

Bonsignore posted a fast lap of 12.593 seconds (71.468 mph) around the high-banked quarter-mile.

It was the fourth career pole award for the Holtsville, N.Y. driver and his first one at Monadnock. Bonsignore won this race last season at Monadnock starting from the second position and he will attempt to become the first repeat winner at the track in nine previous events for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.

Defending series champion and 2012 race winner Ryan Preece followed in second at 12.669 (71.040), with Eric Goodale third at 12.683. Rookies Timmy Solomito and Tommy Barrett Jr., were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Ron Yuhas Jr., Matt Hirschman, Ron Silk, Woody Pitkat and Doug Coby completed the top 10.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts 200 is scheduled to take the green flag at 8:30 p.m.
