Inaugural Joey Logano Hometown Showdown Thursday
On Track Karting in Wallingford, CT will host the inaugural Joey Logano Hometown Showdown Driven by AutoTrader.com on Thursday night. The indoor karting race will feature team (Hometown Showdown) and individual races (Dash 4 Cash). NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and Middletown, CT native Joey Logano will be racing throughout the night.
The Hometown Showdown will include 28 teams of four drivers in qualifying heats with the top five per heat advancing to the feature. The team owner cost $1,500 gets you one karting team with four drivers and a tournament berth. 20 positions are available. The $500 per entry Dash 4 Cash race is a 10-lap shootout for 15 drivers with a $5,000 purse.
Entries in either event will get a VIP meet and greet with Logano, access to the silent auction, a racing gift bag, dinner, photo opportunities, raffles, a t-shirt, snacks and drinks. The top three teams will be honored in the Awards Ceremony.
Spectator Passes are available for $50 for adults and $20 for children (15 and under).
Registration fees will go to the Joey Logano Foundation and The Connection. The Connection is a Middletown nonprofit offering “behavioral health, family support and community justice programs,” according to its web site. For more information on The Connection, visit http://www.theconnectioninc.org.
