TS Haulers Racing Parting Ways with Silk
2011 Whelen Mod Champs To Split After Thompson World Series
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – TS Haulers Racing owner Ed Partridge announced today that the team will part ways with driver Ron Silk following the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season finale at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.
Partridge and Silk were victorious in their first race together in 2009 in a spot start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and joined forces full-time starting in 2010. The pairing captured the Whelen Modified Tour championship together in 2011.
“The 2011 title is one the best memories of my racing career, and Ron has been a great driver for us these last few years, but the time has come for us to try something different,” Partridge said. “I’m very thankful for what Ron has done for us, and I wish him all the best in the future.”
Silk has piloted the No. 6 TS Haulers/Calverton Tree Farm Chevrolet to four top fives and 10 top 10s through 12 races this year to rank fourth in the championship standings.
In 72 points races with TS Haulers Racing, Silk has compiled six wins and 54 top-10 finishes. The last victory was 31 races ago.
Partridge emphasized that TS Haulers Racing will return to Whelen Modified Tour competition in 2015, and he is currently looking to hire a new driver and make an announcement at the conclusion of the season.
Partridge and Silk’s last ride together will be the Sunoco World Series 150 presented by Xtra Mart on Sunday, Oct. 19 at Thompson.
