Todd Patnode Returns to VMRS
Dan Stebbins is a pretty good driver himself, but when a physical condition sidelined him from competing with his potent modified at the Monadnock Speedway in Winchester NH, it was time to look for another driver to fill the seat. Dan and crew sat down and made a list of drivers that might be available. When the name Todd Patnode came up the search was over. After all, Todd had previous experience with the MRS, he ran two partial seasons with the series and took down a victory at the Monadnock Speedway. Then Patnode sold his car, which he regretted as soon as the new owner handed over the check.
Todd said “A week before Dan called I was aggravated with my decision about selling the car and I was looking.” As it works out the Stebbins/Patnode team has hit on all cylinders since inception, tasting victory nine times, including the track championship at Monadnock Speedway. Their one visit to the Devils Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vermont gave them their 10th victory for the year. They never had a DNF and completed all the laps for the year. Dan said “We reached a level where we couldn’t accomplish much more with a sportsmen modified and we really like the informal atmosphere and the competition that the MRS offers.”
The team ran two MRS shows at the end of 2014 just to get their feet wet, and now they’re ready to compete for the entire 2015 schedule. Their updated Spafco modified will have Bob Bruneau power and will have sponsorship from Allstate’s Material Group, West County Equipment Rental, Fairfield Auto, Auto Mall of Brattleboro, VT., Swanzey Oil, Greg’s Auto Body, and Miller’s Pub.
The 05 team will make their first appearance when the MRS starts their 12th season at the Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH. Saturday, May 2.
Look for good things from this impressive team.
