Seekonk Speedway Up Next for Tri Track Series

LONG ISLAND, NY — With two races into the record books on the 2015 Northeast Race Cars and Parts Tri Track Open Modified Series, race three is quickly on the horizon.

The Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Massachusetts is ready to host to the series for round three on Wednesday evening. Some of the best drivers in the Northeast will be in competition for a $10,000 payday.

The battle grounds of the Action Track of the East have seen some of the best Modified racing in the Northeast in the last decade.

As they did last season, MAVTV will be covering the event with the production being done by SPEED SPORT. The coverage of the Modified portion will be sponsored by Seekonk Grand Prix.

“We are thrilled to welcome the famed Seekonk Grand Prix to our coverage of Open Wheel Wednesday at Seekonk.” said SPEED SPORT co-owner Ralph Sheheen in a release. “Every race fan in the Northeast knows about the Seekonk Grand Prix and what a supporter of racing in the region Wayne Darling (Seekonk Grand Prix owner) is.”

Last season, MAVTV produced coverage of the event, however it was just the NEMA Midget portion. This season, they will cover both Mods and Midgets.

“We are very excited to have the Tri Track return for another year as well as the Boston Louie Memorial. This night proves the passion for open wheel racing in the area and we are proud to be able to host this event.” Seekonk Speedway Marketing Director Taylor Therrien said.

In the first two series races of 2015, Chris Pasteryak (Lee USA) and Matt Hirschman (Monadnock) scored victories in the 100 lap events. Both races saw hotly contested battles throughout the entire field with some of the top New England drivers battling door-to-door.

Drivers expected to be at Seekonk on Wednesday evening include the last two NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champions, Doug Coby and Ryan Preece. Hometown favorite and one-time winner of the $10,000 payday Todd Annarummo is also expected to be in action.

James Civali will be behind the wheel of Wayne Darling’s No. 52 Seekonk Grand Prix machine, a car that has won the event four times in the past.

Fans can also meet Bentley Warren, Ken Schrader and Max Papis, who will also be in attendance on Wednesday evening.
