1st Annual I-80 Speedway “Road to Knoxville” Next for FVP National Sprint League – YankeeRacer.com

1st Annual I-80 Speedway “Road to Knoxville” Next for FVP National Sprint League

Windom, MN (July 27, 2015) – The FVP National Sprint League will be back in action in a huge way this Thursday andFriday night, July 30 and 31!  The 1st Annual “Road to Knoxville” will boast the richest two-day sprint car purse in Nebraska history at I-80 Speedway near Greenwood!  The FVP National Sprint League will be joined by the Lucas Oil ASCS National Series for the first time in the two series history and the total purse will exceed $140,000!

Thursday’s NSL winner will receive $5,000, with Friday’s feature offering $10,000 to win!  ASCS main events will pay $3,000 and $4,000 to win.  Fans should see an ample number of drivers doing double duty, as a $20,000 bonus has been offered by Phil Durst of Durst Motorplex and Jim Huffman of Huffman Productions, Inc. to sweep all four features!  The promoters, in conjunction with I-80 Speedway, couldn’t be more excited for this event and hope to see it get bigger and better in the years to come!

The FVP National Sprint League presented four shows last week that saw four different winners!  Though four-time Knoxville Nationals champion, “The Dude” Danny Lasoski was not one of those winners, he leads the NSL point race heading into Thursday’s events.  He will be one of the drivers pulling double duty and going for the $20,000 bonus!

An NSL victory has eluded two-time “King of California” Tim Kaeding as well, but he is currently second in points, ahead of defending Knoxville Raceway champion, Ian Madsen, seven-time IRA champion, “The North Pole Nightmare” Bill Balog and seven-time Knoxville Raceway and eight-time Huset’s Speedway champion, “TMAC” Terry McCarl.  Multi-time I-80 Speedway victor, “Blackjack” Brian Brown, two-time USAC sprint and midget champion, Bryan Clauson, last Sunday’s Huset’s Speedway winner, “Dynamite” Mark Dobmeier, nine-time Aussie World Series Sprintcars champion, Brooke Tatnell and last Thursday’s Jackson Speedway winner, “Zoom Zoom” Dusty Zomer complete the current top ten in series points.  Many more series drivers are expected, with several racing both with the NSL and ASCS.

Plenty of talent will be assembled with several drivers indicating they will be invading I-80 Speedway on their way to both the Knoxville 360 and 410 Nationals!

Doug Wolfgang and Bob Trostle

National Sprint Car Hall of Famers and legends, driver Doug Wolfgang, and owner/manufacturer Bob Trostle will both be on hand for autographs.  Wolfgang will be also be doing a book signing.

Pre-race Concert!

Las Vegas entertainer Sandy Vee Anderson will be performing at 7 p.m. each night.  Her act is titled “Sandy is Dolly”!  The Dolly Parton impersonator will also act as the trophy girl.
