PRACTICE: Ebersole Quick At CMS
Led Prep For Whelen Southern Modified Finale
CONCORD, N.C. – It’s the last shot in 2015, and Kyle Ebersole is doing his best to end the season on a high note.
Ebersole posted a quick lap of 14.858 seconds (60.573 mph) around the quarter-mile oval Thursday afternoon to lead NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour practice in advance of the season finale Southern Slam 150 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Ebersole’s quick circuit came in the 45-minute final practice session. Earlier in the day the event’s defending Coors Light Pole winner Ryan Preece led first practice at 14.904 (60.386).
Frank Fleming, Danny Bohn, George Brunnhoelzl III and Andy Seuss brought home the top five on the first practice speed chart while Preece, Brunnhoelzl, Bohn and Jeremy Gerstner did the same for the final session.
Seuss, who entered today with a 10-point lead over Burt and Jason Myers, was 12th in the final session.
Coors Light Pole Award qualifying is set for 4 p.m., and the Southern Slam 150 will go green at approximately 8:40 p.m. at the conclusion of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying.
