Triple Charity Challenge Drivers to Tackle Karting to Conquer Cancer

WALLINGFORD, CT – The Karting to Conquer Cancer, a go kart event to benefit the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Cancer Institute, is set to take place Saturday, January 16, at On Track Karting in Wallingford, CT. It is the second event in the Triple Charity Challenge, and will decide the final ten drivers to receive a spot in the final event, the DT 100.

Jim Boyle, a Triple Charity Challenge entrant, is looking forward to the event for personal reasons. He states, “I have a couple of close friends who are either battling cancer now, or have in the past, so this is very close to home for me.”

Boyle, who picked up the win on the Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park’s 1.7 mile road course at the Stock Car Road Race Challenge in the North East Street Stock Tour, is tied for ninth in the Triple Charity Challenge standings entering the event, and is proud to be a part of the inaugural series, continuing “I feel privileged to be a part of the Triple Charity Challenge. I always like to give back when given the opportunity, and with this being so close to heart for me, it only makes it more enjoyable.”

Michael Scott, who purchased a Super Modified for the 2016 season, is also entered in the Triple Charity Challenge, and is ready for the Karting to Conquer Cancer. Scott explains, “Having this opportunity to compete with a group of local racers with a lot of heart, and a lot of talent, all while helping to raise a ton of money for a great organization.”

Scott failed to make the feature in the first event, the Race to End Vanishing White Matter, but has other goals in the Triple Charity Challenge. Says Scott, “This is so awesome, because we get the chance to set the bar for the years to come. I am certain as this event grows throughout the years, it will be one of the greatest charity organizations to be a part of.”

Speedway 51 Late Model driver Brandon Lambert, and White Mountain Motorsports Park Late Model driver Alby Ovitt picked up wins in the first of the three events, and lead the standings with 35 points apiece. Karting Ace, and former 4-cylinder driver at Lee USA Speedway, Jeff Ramsdell, is just four points behind the pair in third, long-distance karting World Record holder Ryan Dyer sits in fourth, with Mike Whiting and Alex Lacognata tied for fifth.

The Karting to Conquer Cancer will take place at On Track Karting in Wallingford, CT, on Saturday, January 16. To enter the event, contact Josh Vanada at Josh@otbpromos.net, or Bryon Callen at Bryon@otbpromos.net.
