Winchester 200 To Happen Saturday May 21st
One of the biggest events of the season will be coming to Monadnock Speedway on Saturday night May 21st. It will be the Winchester 200 featuring the Modified Touring Series. The race will be 200 green flag laps and the winner will go home with $15,000 and the trophy will be a 3855 Winchester rifle. Some of the modified teams came to practice their cars this past Wednesday at Monadnock in preparation for the event.
With many drivers entered, such as NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour regulars, Donny Lia, Eric Goodale, Ron Silk, Todd Szegedy, and Rowan Pennink have entered. NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Ryan Preece has entered event driving for Ed Partridge. Chris Pasteryak the winner in the season opener of the Valenti Modified Racing Series at the quarter mile oval has entered in the event along with Valenti Modified Racing Series drivers Kirk Alexander, Les Hinckley, and Todd Patnode.
The Monadnock Speedway NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly divisions will be apart of the program as the Sportsman Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Young Guns, and Lightning Stocks will race.
The pits will open at 8 A.M. for Modified Touring Series teams and at 10:30 A.M. for Monadnock Speedway teams. Practice will begin for Modified Touring Series at Noon and go until 1:30 P.M. The Monadnock Speedway divisions will have a practice from 1:30 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. and then the Modified Touring Series will have a tire scuff from 2:45 P.M. until 3:15 P.M. Qualifying heat races will begin at 3:30 P.M. There will no qualifying heat races for the Young Guns or the Lightning Stocks. Qualifying heats will begin at 4:00 P.M. for the Winchester 200. After that feature events will follow for the Monadnock Speedway divisions. There will be 2 consis for the Modified Touring Series along with a 25 Lap last chance race where the winner of that race will go home with $5,000. The top 10 will redraw for the 200 lap event. The Winchester 200 is planning to go off at 8:30. The Rain Date will be Sunday, May 22nd.
