Drivers Chasing More Than $26,000 in Contingency Awards During 2016 Season
WALPOLE, N.H. — The Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) is proud to announce the contingency awards and bonuses for the 2016 season of racing, which begins this Saturday, May 21, at White Mt. Motorsports Park in New Hampshire.
More than 13 different businesses have come on board to award drivers on the GSPSS for their accomplishments this upcoming season. Some of them return from 2015, but others are welcomed to the series this season with many thanks. Drivers have the chance to win awards in heat races, the feature races and also at the annual awards banquet at the conclusion of the racing season.
Drivers will compete in heat races for points and feature starting spot, but also for multiple different bonus awards. Sunoco Race Fuels will present each heat race winner five gallons of Sunoco Fuel for the duration of the season and MacLellan Metal Finishing will present all the heat race winners with a check for $25. MacLellan will also present a check for $300 to the driver who scores the most heat race wins during the entire season.
In the feature racing, drivers have lots of extra bonus incentives to chase.
AR Bodies will present a $100 “Hard Luck Award,” at each event for the driver who has the worst luck in the feature, which will be decided on by the GSPSS officials. Bond Auto Parts will present a $100 gift certificate to both the second place finisher and the driver that finishes the last car on the lead lap in each event.
RB Performance will present the third and fifth place finisher in each feature race with a $50 gift certificate. The fifth place finisher will also be awarded a $50 gift certificate to Five Star Stock Car Bodies and a $100 gift certificate to VDL Fuel Systems for the “Coming Alive With A Top-Five Award.”
Powertrain Technology will award the fourth place finisher a $100 gift certificate, Magnus Racing Products will award a $100 gift certificate to the second place finisher in each race. Sherwood Wheels will give one wheel to the driver who leads the most laps during each feature race in 2016 and Coilover Commander will present each feature winner with a $300 gift certificate towards the purchase of a Coil-Over Commander.
The series champion in 2016 will be given the championship helmet from Seymour Racing Products, but that will not be the only special award given away at the banquet. AR Bodies will present a $1,000 gift certificate to the Rookie of the Year, VDL Fuel Systems will give away a carburetor at a random draw and Powertrain Technology will do a random draw for a 5.5″ 2-disc clutch with Chevy Late Model button flywheel and Hydro-Max hydraullic release bearing.
Embroidery Expertee’s will present the third place finisher in each feature race with $50 towards the purchase of Team Apparel, as well as giving away a team pack, including five sweatshirts and five polo t-shirts to a driver that finished in the top 10 in the point standings at the annual awards banquet. The driver that wins the team pack will be selected by a random draw.
The series is also proud to welcome back Waddell Communications and Racing Electronics as the official race radio provider for the 2016 season. Contact them for all your radio needs.
The GSPSS is thankful to be partnered with each and every one of the contingency sponsors and appreciates their support. The first event on the schedule is at White Mt. Motorsports Park on Sat. May 21, with heat racing getting underway just after 5 p.m. and the 100 lap feature event to follow.
