LFR Driver Development Group to Make NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Debut with 15-40 Connection
Christian Eckes to Pilot the No. 15 15-40 Connection Ford Fusion at Dominion Raceway
SHREWSBURY, Mass. (May 25, 2016) – The LFR Driver Development Group is excited to announce it will be making its debut start in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) at Dominion Raceway on May 30 with Christian Eckes behind the wheel. 15-40 Connection, who has worked with Rob Fuller in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT), will be on board during the ComServe Memorial Day Classic.
“This is a huge testament to what we have built here at LFR Driver Development Group and how quickly our young drivers are developing,” said Rob Fuller, team owner. “We took Christian to Dominion Speedway recently for a test, and he got up to speed just as quick in the K&N car as he did in the Super Late Model. Running in this series will provide another challenge for our team and our drivers but I feel confident that they will succeed in this division as they have in others that we have competed in. I’m really looking forward to our debut in the K&N series at Dominion Raceway this week.”
15-40 Connection has partnered with Rob Fuller for the past three years in the NWMT and is thrilled to be expanding their relationship with the team into the NKNPSE.
15-40 Connection is driving a new cancer conversation with race fans across the country by teaching them how to recognize early warning signs of cancer, when to seek medical attention and how to collaborate with a doctor to receive the most effective health care.
“Through 3 easy and simple steps, race fans can learn how to become active participants in their own health care so cancer as well as other illnesses can be diagnosed earlier,” said Tricia Laursen, 15-40 Connection Executive Director. “The result is a quicker return to health and most importantly lives saved.”
Behind the wheel of the No. 15 15-40 Connection Ford Fusion will be LFR Driver Development Group member Christian Eckes. Eckes, a 15-year-old driver from Greenville, N.Y., has been making a name for himself in the short track racing scene. While driving for the LFR Driver Development Group, Eckes has collected one pole, two Top-5 and three Top-10 finishes, and looks to expand on those numbers with a solid NKNPSE debut.
“This will be my first ever NASCAR K&N Pro Series start, and I’m so honored to be competing for Rob Fuller and 15-40 Connection,” stated Eckes. “It really means a lot that they are having me race their car in their first K&N Series event. The K&N Series is very prestigious and a great next step for my racing career so I’m very excited.”
“I’ve never raced at or even seen Dominion Raceway before the test session,” he continued. “But my goal is to get a Top-5 finish and with the team we have assembled with the LFR Driver Development Group, I believe that is highly possible.”
