Roderick ‘Back in the Groove’ With Southern Super Series

Concord, NC) – A couple of years ago Casey Roderick had a shot at the big leagues of NASCAR racing. That shot came to an end after about 10 races in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. Roderick’s name wasn’t heard from for a while, but now he’s one of the favorites to win the Southern Super Series race at Pensacola, Florida’s Five Flags Speedway this weekend.

Why is Roderick the favorite? Well, he’s the defending Blizzard Series champion at Five Flags and he already has a win there this season. In fact, Roderick is off to one of the best starts of his career with wins coming in the Super Late Model and in the Pro Late Model at Alabama’s Montgomery Motor Speedway.

And with the results comes confidence. Roderick’s confidence is at a level that it hasn’t been at since before his XFINITY Series (then Nationwide Series) foray.

“I was off of racing for a couple years after I did my Nationwide stuff,” Roderick said. “There was a couple years where I didn’t race at all. The Graham’s called me up about three years ago and asked me to work on their car and race for them and it’s taken me until now to get back in the groove of things and get my skills back to where they used to be when I was racing every weekend. I’m looking forward to what’s next in the summer here.”

This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend, the unofficial beginning to summer, and Roderick is headed back to Pensacola where he was so strong before winning back in April.

“I’ve only run a couple races in the super, but what we did at Pensacola was hopefully an eye-opener for a lot of people,” said Roderick. “I’m not going to quit until we are going to dominate hopefully everything we enter.”

With the results coming once again and his confidence as high as its ever been, Roderick shows no signs of slowing down in the winning department and in racing in general. He’s finally back in his happy place again.

“I love racing. This is all I’ve ever done since I was five years old and this is all I ever want to do.”

Roderick and the rest of the Southern Super Series will begin a stretch of three races in 10 days beginning Friday night at Five Flags Speedway. They will visit Mobile International Speedway (AL) Saturday night to cap off the first and only Gulf Coast Doubleheader of the 2016 season. Then, next Saturday, the series will return to Crisp Motorsports Park in Cordele Georgia for the Marvin Ragan Memorial Cup.

The driver averaging the best average finish at the three races will be awarded the $1,000 Tri-State Bonus Bucks bonus.
